Starting this week, we are entering a period with several public holidays in Latin America, as a number of countries celebrate Independence Days.
The first comes this Friday, 25th August, when Uruguay celebrates the anniversary of the day the country officially separated from Brazil to become an independent nation in 1828.
Brazil only gained it’s own independence from Portugal six years earlier in 1822, and their day is marked by a public holiday on 7th September.
